For many years in a row these conditions never arrived at the Hot Springs. So when a 7-ft snow dumped on the peaks I knew I had to be there. Access was by snowshoes only, with around 4 ft new accumulation in this area. Made me realize that my current snowshoes are not sufficient for my "svelte physique". The only downside was that the steams produced a lot of fog in the very cold weather and the peaks played peekaboo all day long. It was bluebird skies all day long, the "clouds" visible in the image are steam that happened to disperse in a desirable pattern for a few seconds.
